REGARDING THE INFINITE

Over the years I have been attracted to the figure in the landscape, especially in a solitary state, and when I have come across it I have tried to photograph it as discreetly as possible. Sometimes, perhaps due to timidity, they are of people photographed from behind and I have separated those images for later viewing. The result is this grouping of images, evocative of strong human sensations, not devoid of humour, presented here with a fortuitous pairing of quotes, sometimes apocryphal, others of multiple authorship that are revealed to the visitor when hovering over the image.

A note about the title: In English the word “regarding” means both to see and à propos of, and it is this ambiguity that highlights the mystery of our existence and offers us the key to understanding it.
